The brother of Milos Kerkez, Marko, has posted a touching tribute to his sibling with the transfer to Liverpool all but officially confirmed.

Widespread reports confirm that Liverpool FC have reached an agreement with Bournemouth to sign the Hungarian left-back in a deal reported to be worth £40 million, with add-ons potentially taking the fee higher.

Sporting director Richard Hughes has negotiated the terms with his former club, and all that remains is for Kerkez to undergo a medical next week and finalize personal terms.

Kerkez is set to sign a five-year contract that will keep him at Anfield until 2030, making him the most expensive full-back in Liverpool’s history, behind only Virgil van Dijk in the club’s defensive spending hierarchy.

The agreement includes performance-related add-ons that could elevate the total package beyond the initial £40 million outlay.

The player has previously spoken about how close he is with his siblings and family, saying to the Athletic earlier this year:

“I play for them.

I just want to have made them proud,” Kerkez said.

“All the other noise is not important for me, if it’s good or bad?

My family is why I’m here today and why I continue to grow.”
