Milos Kerkez has penned an open letter to AFC Bournemouth and their fans with his Liverpool transfer now complete.
Liverpool secured Kerkez’s services for a reported £40 million, making him the club’s most expensive full-back signing in history.
The fee, which could rise with add-ons, was the club’s third major incoming business of the summer after Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz.
The 21-year-old has committed to Anfield on a five-year contract that runs until June 2030.
It was reported that solidarity payments will see a portion of the fee distributed to the Hungarian clubs involved in his youth development, in line with FIFA regulations.
Kerkez arrives on Merseyside following two stellar seasons on England’s south coast, where he made 74 appearances, including all 38 Premier League games in 2024/25.
Internationally, Kerkez has already been capped 23 times by Hungary since his debut against Germany in the UEFA Nations League in September 2022.
He was shortlisted for the 2024–25 PFA Young Player of the Year and was a finalist for the 2023 Golden Boy award
After being announced as a new Liverpool player on Thursday, the Hungarian international has taken to Instagram to pen a message to his former side:
“I want to thank the whole AFC Bournemouth family for giving me the chance to come and play in the Premier League, the gaffer, everyone at coaching staff, everyone at the club, you guys will always be in my heart, especially the players, made friends for life.”
“We fought lot of battles together and gave everything for each other, love you guys.
The fans always support us and I am forever thankful for the love?
