Milos Kerkez has made quite the impression on Liverpool fans in his short time with the Reds so far, with the summer signing even demonstrating a new style of defending in his first appearance for the club.

Finding himself on the floor and with nowhere else to go as he tried to win the ball back, Kerkez took the unorthodox route of going in for a tackle with his head.

The bizarre moment showed a commitment to the cause that Liverpool fans took an instant shine to, and it sounds like the 21-year-old won’t be afraid to do it again if the situation calls for it.

Asked about the reaction online to his unconventional tackle, Kerkez told Liverpool’s website: “Yeah, I saw that!

“It’s me, you know, it’s how I play – I always give 100 per cent.

“When you play for Liverpool you have to always give everything on the pitch for the fans and for the badge, and that’s what I want to do.”

Kerkez will almost certainly get another chance to impress the Liverpool fans on Saturday as he comes up against one of his old clubs, with the Reds facing AC Milan in Hong Kong.

The defender spent a year in Italy before joining Dutch side AZ Alkmaar - ironically one of Arne Slot’s former teams - in 2022, and he’s relishing the chance to come up against some familiar faces.
