Bournemouth have reportedly agreed a deal with French side Rennes to sign Adrien Truffert as a potential replacement for Milos Kerkez.
The Cherries had sounded out a move for the 23-year-old as a replacement for Kerkez, who continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool.
Rennes, though, proved to be tough negotiators and rejected Bournemouth's first two offers for the France international.
On Monday, however, French publication Le Parisien claimed that the two sides had finally reached an agreement on a fee of roughly £15 million for Truffert, who will now travel to England for a medical before signing a five-year contract on the south coast.

Bournemouth's interest in the Rennes club captain comes as Kerkez continues to be pursued by Liverpool.
Earlier this month, the ECHO reported how the Premier League champions were looking to finalise a deal for the Hungary international.

Liverpool are considered the favourites to sign the 21-year-old, who is valued at £45m by Bournemouth after two excellent seasons at the Vitality Stadium since arriving from AZ Alkmaar.
Liverpool are keen to refresh their left-back options with first-choice Andy Robertson now 31 and approaching the final 12 months of his contract while Kostas Tsimikas has seen his Premier League action limited during the last two seasons.
Reds sporting director Richard Hughes, who has been leading the talks, has been a long-time advocate of Kerkez having brought him to Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.
Liverpool have already signed Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi from Bayer Leverkusen and Puskas Akademia this month, while they are also working on a club record deal to sign Florian Wirtz from Leverkusen.
"We don't talk about the players we want to bring in in public until the moment they have signed for us, and then you can ask me everything about them," Reds head coach Arne Slot said when asked about transfers last month.
"But as a club we are always looking at interesting players that can strengthen our squad.
But that's the general answer, not talking about an individual."

He added: "But it's difficult to strengthen this squad because there's a reason why we won the league - because we have so many great players.
"It's an ongoing process what we are talking about.
"I think this club has shown so many times in the past that they will make the right decisions, and we've made the right decision last season as well not to bring in a player at all - except for Federico Chiesa - and that worked out quite well or not.
