Milos Kerkez’s links to Liverpool have been well documented.

The Hungarian left-back was arguably the best in his position in the Premier League last season, and as a result seems destined for a move away from Bournemouth this summer.

Liverpool are the front-runners for his signature, and it seems to only be a matter of time before the Reds seal the deal.

Whilst simultaneously working on a transfer for Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, it is shaping up to be an extremely busy summer for Liverpool.

Players are now on international duty and it can often stir up excitement if players withdraw or miss a game whilst at the centre of transfer interest from a club.

It gets people talking, and the latest update from Hungarian football journalist Bence Bocsak is sure to interest Liverpool fans.

Milos Kerkez linked up with the Hungary squad for international duty but missed Hungary’s 2-0 defeat to Sweden on Friday evening due to a minor injury.

Now, Bocsak has confirmed that Kerkez will play no part in Hungary’s upcoming game against Azerbaijan on Tuesday.

The reason for it is reportedly private reasons, and a specific reason for his absence is currently undisclosed, with no indication as to whether it is transfer-related or not.

Liverpool fans will be hoping it is due to his rumoured move to Liverpool, as he would be a brilliant coup for the Reds and provide much needed competition for the ageing Andy Robertson.

Bournemouth are under no pressure to sell Milos Kerkez, having already raked in £50million this summer from the transfer of Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, and as a result are sticking firm to their asking price of £45m for the Hungarian left-back, a price Liverpool are seemingly willing to pay.

All signs point towards Milos Kerkez becoming a Liverpool player this summer.
