Bournemouth could be set to land a new left-back as Milos Kerkez moves closer to joining Liverpool.
Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival has already been confirmed, Florian Wirtz looks set to follow him from Bayer Leverkusen, and Kerkez could be the third new arrival.
That process has sped up with Bournemouth reportedly on the verge of signing Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert.
The report claims that Bournemouth rejected two offers for the 23-year-old, but the clubs finally agreed to a fee of around €17 million ($19M/£14M), in addition to possible bonuses and a resale sell-on clause.
It comes amid what could be a bruising summer for the Cherries, who have already lost Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, could be forced to sell Illia Zabarnyi to Paris Saint-Germain, while on Tuesday, there were fresh reports of a possible exit for Antoine Semenyo.
Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is also set to join Arsenal after a successful loan at the Vitality last season, meaning it could be a new-look side under Andoni Iraola next season.
.
He first brought the Hungarian to the Premier League during his time at Bournemouth.
A reported £45 million ($61M) fee could be required to sign Kerkez, who is close friends with Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
A report in The Athletic claimed Liverpool, Bournemouth, and Kerkez’s representatives are set to meet this week, and there is a “very good chance” that the parties will agree to a transfer.
Kerkez could be set to join Liverpool in the next weeks
Should the 21-year-old sign for Liverpool, it would likely result in Andy Robertson dropping down the pecking order at Anfield.
The Reds’ long-serving left-back suffered a disappointing campaign in 2024/25, and left-back has been identified as a clear area for the Reds to strengthen this summer.
“We're not daft, it looks as if a deal could potentially be done," Robertson said in an interview last week
