The brother of Liverpool transfer target Milos Kerkez has shared a social media post that states the left-back is 'soon to be' a new player for the club.

The Reds are closing in on agreement with Bournemouth ahead of the summer window reopening on Monday morning.

The ECHO has reported that Liverpool remain confident of striking an agreement for the £45m-rated defender having agreed a £116m fee with Bayer Leverkusen for midfielder Florian Wirtz.

It has been a top priority to sign a long-term successor to Andy Robertson, especially now so the 31-year-old Scotland international has emerged as a surprise target for Atletico Madrid.

Kerkez has flirted with the idea of a summer transfer to join the Reds through social media, though it is his brother Marko's latest activity that has kicked up a new online storm.

Marko, 24, shared a post to his Instagram story on Sunday.

In doing so, he shared the caption that came with said post, which translated to English reads: "Milos Kerkez, soon to be a new Liverpool player, has revealed which club he supports."

Marko, 24, is a full-back for Greek Super League side Aris Thessaloniki and his account is followed by the Cherries defender.

As the Reds will be officially able to register new players again when the window reopens on Monday, it remains to be seen how quickly this process plays out.

Negotiations are being pushed by sporting director Richard Hughes, who has a strong direct relationship with the South Coast club having previously been in the same role with them.

Another man close to Kerkez is Liverpool's very own Dominik Szoboszlai, who remained tight-lipped when asked about the possible deal for his Hungary teammate.

"I don't know about him...

for now," he teased speaking to Nemzeti Sport when pressed for an update.

Robertson has also talked on the subject of being replaced, saying: "I think at any big club you always have to keep moving, the club always moves forward and I think you've also seen other big clubs like Manchester City have been very active early doors in the window.

"The club have identified certain positions where they want to get new blood in, it looks like players we're linked to are all younger players and they are all exciting players as well.

"So when you play for a big club like Liverpool you expect challenges, you expect competition and I have always faced that, everyone here has faced that in their own positions and I expect nothing less."
