Liverpool’s hunt for a new left-back looks nearly complete, and this time, the news didn’t break from a journalist — but from the player’s (Milos Kerkez) own father.

Milos Kerkez, the 21-year-old Bournemouth defender, is widely expected to join the Reds this summer.

And now, his father Sebastijan Kerkez has added fuel to the fire by declaring the move is “basically a done deal.”

The young Hungarian, who was born in Serbia, gave an interview with his father on the Super Indirektno podcast during his offseason break.

While Milos kept things measured, it was dad who stole the show — and the headlines.

“For us, Liverpool is the only option, we are not going anywhere else and we will not talk to other clubs,” Sebastijan said.

“Personal terms have been agreed, we just need to sort out some details, but that is basically a done deal.”

The Reds are expected to wrap up a deal worth around £45 million, although Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes may look to negotiate that figure.

He knows Kerkez well, having signed him for Bournemouth in 2023.

The full-back was spotted with a Liverbird flag and wearing a Reds shirt, possibly hinting at what’s to come.

With Adrien Truffert already signed by Bournemouth as a replacement, the road looks clear for Kerkez to head to Anfield.
