Missy Bo Kearns has been named Liverpool FC Women’s Standard Chartered Player of the Month for February. Supporters voted the midfielder as the outstanding performer for Matt Beard’s side in a month where they secured an important Barclays Women’s Super League victory against Reading Women at Prenton Park.
Scouser Kearns grabbed the vital opening goal in the 2-0 win over Reading as she continued a fine run of form which also saw her score for England U23s when they played at Prenton Park last month. The 21-year-old was presented with the Standard Chartered trophy at The Campus and expressed her delight at the vote of confidence from the fans. Kearns said: “Liverpool FC is known for its fans and for them to recognise me and vote for this award is massive and I’m privileged.”
Scoring comes from practice and hard work, if you don’t shoot you don’t score is what I’ve been telling myself.
“We’re improving every single game and we’re settled into this league a lot more now.
