Salah and Van Dijk’s contract talks have finally been revealed, with Liverpool’s iconic duo admitting they spoke about the saga “every day” last season.
Fans worried that two of the team’s biggest leaders could leave Anfield at the same time, leaving a massive void in both quality and experience.
But Salah and Van Dijk have now explained that, despite the tension, they never lost sight of their shared commitment to Liverpool.

Appearing on All Red Video, the pair reflected on how they dealt with the pressure behind the scenes.
Salah admitted:
“Both of us, every day!
We appreciate that so much and we know how much we work and try to push each other and the younger players.”
Van Dijk echoed that sentiment, explaining that although there were “question marks” early in the season, the responsibility they carried to the team and fans kept them motivated.
“It was not a difficult thing in some ways… we just had to perform and what will be will be,” the captain added.
By April, both players committed to new two-year deals, securing the outcome they said they always wanted.
The relief was shared by supporters, who had watched Salah top Europe’s charts with 34 goals and 23 assists while Van Dijk anchored the defence.
Salah also stressed the importance of setting an example for Liverpool’s next generation.
“If that’s my last season, I need to enjoy it, I need to show the fans that I really give them everything,” he explained, underlining his determination to lead by example regardless of the uncertainty.
With Ibrahima Konate now facing a similar contract dilemma, Salah and Van Dijk’s approach offers the blueprint for how Liverpool’s leaders handle adversity.
Should Konate follow their example, the Reds could remain well-positioned for another season of success.
