It looked like Federico Chiesa gave the Reds an 88th-minute winner but Salah, who was surprisingly sloppy on Friday night, ended up having the final say.

Salah still trails Rush's record by some distance, sitting 101 goals shy of the two-time European Cup winner.

Having surpassed the 20-goal mark in each of his eight seasons at Anfield, the Premier League star would have to up his average to over 30 goals per campaign in the next three years.
