Much was made of the relationship between Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane when the pair played together at Liverpool.
Sometimes, a lack of comment from the players themselves prompted others to speculate wildly, but now Salah has lifted the lid on the years the forwards spent as team-mates.
Salah was accused at times of not passing to Mane enough of the time, while the perceived rivalry between the pair was also played out at international as Mane's Senegal beat Salah's Egypt to win the Africa Cup of Nations.
Salah has admitted there was a level of tension between him and his colleague, but doesn't feel it harmed Liverpool on the pitch.
“Yes, there was tension with Sadio," Salah told France Football (via Get French Football News).
But I invite everyone to note that the person who provided Mané with the most assists is me," he added.

Mane won the Champions League and Premier League with Liverpool, but eventually left In 2022 to join Bayern Munich.
He only lasted a year in Bavaria, spending the last two seasons in the Saudi Pro League with Al Nassr.

Salah, in contrast, has prolonged his career at Anfield.
He is now the third-highest scorer in Liverpool history, and agreed a fresh contract extension in April before helping clinch a second Premier League title later the same month.

“It was a possibility, yes," he said when asked if he could have ended up running down his contract leaving on a free this summer.
