The shirt worn by Mohamed Salah on the day Liverpool secured the Premier League title has been auctioned off for a staggering amount of money.

Salah's impressive strike in the second half marked his 28th league goal of the campaign.

After the final whistle, he decided against swapping his shirt with an opposing player, instead opting to keep it for himself.



Meanwhile, the shirts worn and signed by Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo were sold for £9,345 and £7,393 respectively.

Some of the proceeds from each auction will go to the LFC Foundation, which aims to create life-changing opportunities for children and young people.

The shirts were authenticated by Fabricks, a technology developed by MatchWornShirt, using heat pressing to guarantee they were completely genuine.

It was fitting that Salah was on the scoresheet in the game which saw Liverpool crowned Premier League champions for the first time in five years.

He celebrated by grabbing a phone and taking a selfie with fans in the Kop, which has quickly become iconic.

Speaking after the final whistle, he told Sky Sports that he was delighted to clinch the title in front of Liverpool fans after their last Premier League triumph was celebrated in an empty stadium due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"It's incredible, to win the Premier League with the fans is something special," said Salah.

Without Sadio [Mane], without Jurgen [Klopp] and without Bobby [Firmino], without everybody.

"It's more special with the fans.

I wanted to win it at Anfield.

"The guys met last week to watch Arsenal versus Crystal Palace [who would have handed the title to Liverpool if they had won].
