Mohamed Salah is one of five Liverpool players nominated for awards for this year’s Ballon d’Or, while Arne Slot has also been nominated for Coach of the Year.
The Egyptian enjoyed a remarkable season for the Reds, recording 34 goals and 23 assists from 52 appearances as he helped fire his side to the Premier League title.
The Egyptian was controversially not included in the 30-man shortlist for the 2024 Ballon d'Or award, marking the first time since 2017 that he has been omitted from the nominations.
But he is now back in the reckoning and has been nominated for the 2025 main prize.
Salah’s individual form had even seen him initially emerge as the early favourite for this year’s Ballon d’Or.

However, his hopes were dealt a likely critical blow by Liverpool’s premature Champions League round-of-16 exit to Paris Saint-Germain.
Nevertheless, he will be looking to better his previous joint-best finish of fifth, recorded in 2019 and 2022.
Salah is not the only Reds star up for the main Ballon d’Or prize at this year’s awards, with Alexis Mac Allister, Virgil van Dijk and summer signing Florian Wirtz also earning nominations on the 30-man shortlist.

Mac Allister made 49 appearances for Liverpool in the 2024/25 season, returning seven goals and six assists.
Reds skipper Van Dijk also made 49 appearances as he captained the Reds to Premier League glory.
Wirtz joined Liverpool in a club-record deal worth up to a British record £116m from Bayer Leverkusen back in June.
However, the likes of Ryan Gravenberch have surprisingly been overlooked.
Meanwhile, Alisson Becker has been nominated for the 2025 Yachine Trophy - the prize reserved especially for goalkeepers.
The Brazilian previously won the award in 2019, while he finished second in 2022.
Yassine Bounou, Lucas Chevalier, Thibaut Courtois, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Emiliano Martinez, Jan Oblak, David Raya, Matz Sels and Yann Sommer have also been nominated for the prize.
The 32-year-old made 35 appearances for Liverpool during the 2024/25 season, keeping 13 clean sheets in all competitions.
