Mohamed Salah has written a goodbye message to one of his former Liverpool teammates after a transfer deadline day departure.

Slot’s rebuild at Anfield saw Harvey Elliott joined Aston Villa on a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
The attacking midfielder made 149 appearances for Liverpool, from 2019-2025, scoring 15 goals in the process.
Meanwhile, after Elliott completed his move to Villa Park, Salah took to Instagram on Thursday, 4 September to write: “You’ll be remembered for your loyalty and dedication every time you were called upon.

As alluded to by Salah’s message, Elliott was a reliable asset for Liverpool when he was called upon.

However, as the North West side won the Premier League title last term, the former Fulham man made just two top-flight starts for Slot’s men.
Despite his lack of game time, Elliott showed his class by scoring five goals and producing three assists across all competitions last season.
A particular highlight came when the 22-year-old scored the winning goal as Liverpool beat PSG 1-0 in their first leg clash with the eventual champions.
However, after excelling in the Under-21 European Championship for England, Elliott will be better served by earning more game time at Aston Villa.
Furthermore, Unai Emery needs Elliott to perform, having lost the services of former loan duo Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio, who helped the West Midlands club reach the Champions League quarter-finals last season.
The deadline day additions of Elliott and Jadon Sancho could even help Emery win his fifth Europa League title.
