Mohamed Salah has accused a Liverpool fan account on social media of “disrespecting” two of his former teammates after Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez were called out.

It has been a busy summer for the Reds, with nine new players arriving as eight players have moved away permanently from Anfield - effectively nine, with Harvey Elliott having joined Aston Villa on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

Of those new additions, deadline day arrival Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz are certainly the most eye-catching, with both players having arrived for record fees as the former broke the Premier League transfer record after arriving from Newcastle for $169 million.

They arrive as a part of a major overhaul following Liverpool’s title success last season, with Arne Slot’s squad taking on a new look for its defense in 2025/26.

Among the biggest names to depart were Diaz and Nunez, both of whom had been regular fixtures in the Reds’ attack over the last few years before leaving for Bayern Munich and Al-Hilal respectively.

Liverpool’s business has led to plenty of excitement among supporters online, although one account is facing backlash for one of its posts.

.

Anfield Edition posted pictures of Diaz and Nunez alongside those of Wirtz and Isak on X, alongside the caption: “Name a bigger upgrade in footballing history.”

The post had been met with criticism from some supporters already before Salah weighed in

The winger responded with: “How about we celebrate the great signings without disrespecting the PL champions?”

Salah’s post was met with support from other Liverpool fans, including Jamie Carragher, who replied with a love heart emoji.

Isak and Wirtz are among the Liverpool players to have headed out on international duty following the closure of the transfer window, with the former’s debut for his new club having to wait until at least September 14 when the Reds return to action at Burnley.

"It’s mixed emotions," Isak told the club's website during his unveiling interview

I’m looking forward to seeing my teammates and the fans, and getting back out there.

"It has been a long summer but I’m just looking forward, not looking at the past

Really looking forward to it."
