When one season begins, the previous year tends to be swiftly wiped from supporters’ memories.
Not for Liverpool fans.
The campaign was a glorious one, ending in the Reds winning an unexpected 20th English league title.
At the centre of it was one man: Mohamed Salah.
Although the rest of the Liverpool squad more than played their part, the season belonged to him.
After finishing as the Premier League’s top goalscorer and top assist-maker, Salah deservedly won a raft of awards at the conclusion of the campaign.
And having secured a record third PFA Player’s Player of the Year on Tuesday, the Liverpool legend went on to be named as top dog in the Sofascore end of season awards.

It will be a surprise to no one that Salah landed himself yet another individual trophy after arguably the best season of his career.
The Egyptian was head and shoulders above the competition in 24/25, and as per data collected by Sofascore, no one could match his average rating of 7.78 during the campaign.
Remarkably, Salah found the net every 116 minutes of playing, translating to 0.8 goals per game.

The 33-year-old’s shot conversion rate of 22% was not amongst the highest in the division, but as his tally of 3.4 shots per game shows, Salah was always ready to pull the trigger.

Liverpool’s Egyptian King has one of the most lethal left pegs in the business, and it was no surprise to see that 26 of Salah’s 29 Premier League goals came via his stronger foot.
Meanwhile, Salah also did work on the other side of the coin, registering 2.7 balls recovered per game as he put in the hard yards for Arne Slot.
With the Sofascore end of season awards presented live on stage in Zadar, Croatia earlier this week, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was invited to say a few words of praise in honour of Salah.
“He was the best player in the Premier League last season,” Carragher said.
“He’s not just one of the best players of this generation of Liverpool, he’s one of the best players in the history of the football club in over 130 years.
“His consistency level is outrageous and he’s one of the greatest players we’ve ever seen in the Premier League.”
One game into the new season and Salah is, predictably, on the scoresheet already.
