Mohamed Salah has reiterated his claim that Arsenal should be considered favourites for the Premier League title ahead of Liverpool.

When the team’s stuck together for that long, they know each other’s game, so it becomes easier for them.

“But other teams like us and [Manchester] City, changing a lot of players, which is sometimes tricky.

“But again, teams with Pep Guardiola, they are always the favourites.

But of course, my opinion is this year Arsenal are number one.”

In a wide-ranging interview with Sky Sports to preview Sunday's game against the Gunners at Anfield, Salah also revealed that Slot has allowed him to give his opinions on players who could improve the Liverpool squad.

“I think I had a conversation with him before I renewed about that, and also in the beginning of the season, but I don’t tell him, ‘Oh boss, we need that’,” he said.

“Before I renewed, I needed to know the whole plan, but after I stayed, was asking him just out of curiosity.

I know my role, I know he is the manager and he needs to decide what he wants, what position.

“But to be fair, the thing I admired the most about him is that he gave me the space to give my opinion and to tell him what I see in the team, what can we improve.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.

“Even if I look at that now, I feel like if I went and told tell him ‘we need this guy in this position,’ I think he would listen a lot and that’s something I really, really appreciate.”

The forward is now in his eighth year at the club after signing a new Liverpool contract back in April.

The extension brought an end to months of speculation over his Anfield future, and he admits that his role behind-the-scenes has changed over the years.

“When I came here first, I just wanted to do my job, go to the gym and focus on my craft so much,” he revealed.

“The rest, ‘Hendo (Jordan Henderson) needs to sort it’, Milly (James Milner) needs to sort it’, but now you just try and see it from a different perspective.

“You see the players coming in disappointed [to training] and I say, ‘Come and get coffee and we speak’.

“My role has changed and my personality has changed – now I’m more grown up.”
