Liverpool secured all three points at the death this afternoon against a valiant Burnley side.

Mohamed Salah reaches new Premier League milestone

It took until the 95th minute for the Reds to break the deadlock as Mohamed Salah cooly dispatched from the penalty spot to maintain Liverpool’s 100% record in the Premier League so far this season.

Burnley had clearly been set up by Scott Parker to sit deep and defend, seeing a point secured as more valuable than trying to score themselves.

Liverpool had to dig deep to get a result at Turf Moor, and they did just that, registering their fourth late victory in four games to kickstart their title defence.

Synergy will soon come, but with so many summer additions there was always going to be a period where the new signings would have to gel, there was always going to be a period of struggle.

But if struggling is winning four games out of four, so be it!

Mohamed Salah has been at Liverpool for nine years now and his impact on the team has been clear from day one.

Certifying himself as not only a Liverpool legend, but a Premier League legend too.

He has two goals and one assist in four games so far this season and is showing no signs of slowing down despite being a winger and 33 years old in the toughest league in the world.

The Egyptian forward put the game to bed during Liverpool’s Premier League opener against Bournemouth with his late strike, and he set up Rio Ngumoha’s extremely late winner against Newcastle United.

Now, with his late winner from the penalty spot against Burnley, Mohamed Salah is now the fourth-highest Premier League goal scorer in history.

He reacted to the game today, saying:

“Tough opponent today, we tried our best to get the ball between the lines.

We try and push ourselves to the limit and as a team we did that.”

His penalty spot kick takes him past Andrew Cole and on to 188 goals in England’s top-flight.

The top six is as follows:

Alan Shearer – 260 goals

Harry Kane – 213 goals

Wayne Rooney – 208 goals

MOHAMED SALAH – 188 goals

Andrew Cole – 187 goals
