Mohamed Salah has made an honest admission about Liverpool’s start to the season after the Reds required a 95th-minute penalty from the Egyptian to overcome newly-promoted Burnley.

The Premier League champions sit top of the table with four wins from four and are the only side to have picked up maximum points in the English top-flight.

However, Liverpool have not been at their best in any of their matches and needed late winners to come out on top in all four games.

The Reds recorded 27 shots against Burnley on Sunday, but only four were on target as they struggled to break down a stubborn, deep five-man Clarets defence.

But they were gifted victory late on when Hannibal Mejbri handled a Jeremie Frimpong cross in his own box, granting Salah the opportunity to snatch victory at the death.

The Egyptian has now recorded two goals and an assist so far this season despite navigating a quiet start to the campaign.

And having seen Liverpool bring in eight new senior players in the summer in a £450m spending spree, Salah admits it will take time for the Reds to find their best form as their signings continue to adapt.

“It’s a tough opponent today,” Salah told Sky Sports after the final whistle.

I’m glad that in the end we managed to win the game.

“The players are adapting to our system.

It takes time to adapt their game to our game.

“We try to make them comfortable in a game.

We try to find the balance.

“We don’t give up.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.

This is not the first time Salah has admitted it will take time to build chemistry with Liverpool’s new attacking players, having conceded he is still getting used to playing alongside the likes of Hugo Ekitike earlier this month.
