Mohamed Salah has made his return to the AXA for pre-season ahead of the 2024/25 season.

While there is still international tournaments reaching their conclusions, Arne Slot’s men already started pre-season last week Friday.

The first group of senior players began last week, with the Egyptian now reporting for duty,

Salah was involved with World Cup qualifiers until the middle of June hence why he has arrived slightly later.

While statistically, the Egyptian had a good season for the Reds, he did not quite look himself for large swathes of Jurgen Klopp’s final campaign.

The hamstring tear he picked up while representing his nation at AFCON in January did not help matters, and indeed he only scored three goals after suffering the injury.

But now, hopefully refreshed from a summer break, the Egyptian is able to show the form we all know he is capable under Arne Slot.

Wataru Endo also made his return to the AXA on Wednesday morning as he was also involved in World Cup qualifiers in Asia.

The Japan skipper has good debut season and could be even better now with a year’s experience under his belt.

Both Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo were being considered for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris by their respective nations.

Set to only start at the end of July, Liverpool and both players have agreed that they will not represent their nations at the Olympics.

This is because the Olympics is not a FIFA-mandated event, meaning the club is under no obligation to release the pair.

Liverpool will fly to Pittsburgh later this month on July 23rd as they prepare for an American tour for this pre-season.

Arne Slot’s Reds will play three games in the USA, with the first one against Real Betis at the Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Friday July 26.

A clash against Arsenal then takes place on July 31 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, followed by an encounter with the Red Devils at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina on August 3.

Arne Slot’s first home game will be Liverpool taking on Sevilla at Anfield on Sunday, August 11.
