Mohamed Salah has got Liverpool fans speculating after sharing a cryptic photo with team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Liverpool duo had both started the season with one year left on their contracts, but only Salah has put pen to paper so far.
Alongside team-mate Virgil van Dijk, Salah extended his stay earlier this month, leaving Alexander-Arnold as the only big-name star in the Liverpool ranks to be out of contract this season.
It comes after intense rumours linking the right-back to a Real Madrid switch following the expiration of his deal.
However, a social media post from Salah has got Liverpool fans questioning whether the seemingly Real Madrid-bound star might be about to perform a U-turn and agree to fresh terms at Anfield instead.
Posing for a snap at the Reds' training ground, Salah posted a selfie of himself and Alexander-Arnold with huge grins on their face.
Hypothesising about the meaning behind the photo, @NormieJP wrote on X: "Mo shared this photo 3 days after the game.
IS HE FINALLY PUTTING THE PEN ON THE PAPER????"
But, while it might seem like a Salah is teasing a potential Alexander-Arnold contract extension, it's likely the forward is merely rectifying an error he was called out for over the weekend.
That's because Salah has often posted an immediate post-match selfie with Liverpool's winning goalscorers this season, but eagle-eyed fans spotted the 32-year-old didn't share a picture with Alexander-Arnold after the Englishman scored the winner against Leicester City on Sunday.
When asked by Sky Sports about his contract situation following the Leicester win, Alexander-Arnold replied: "I've said all season I'm not going to speak on my situation.
