Mohamed Salah poured his heart onto social media following the confirmed departure of close Liverpool teammate and friend, Luis Diaz.

Football Insider verdict

Despite over £200million being spent during the summer so far, Slot does not look to be finished with his deal, though Isak may now be off the cards for the Reds following their opening bid.

Mick Brown told Football Insider that Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi has his heart set on Liverpool, and that could be especially important if Konate ends up sealing a free transfer to Real Madrid.

Jarell Quansah and Nat Phillips have both made moves away, with Joe Gomez flying home from Liverpool’s pre-season due to a new injury, so a new defender would be helpful either way.

West Ham believe they can sign Elliott, Mick Brown has told Football Insider, and with just two Premier League starts to his name last term, it would be no surprise to see him leave as well.

There are plenty of changes still to be expected at Anfield, and understandably so under the new manager, but it may take a while before these players learn to gel together on the pitch.

The Reds have already lost one of their pre-season matches to AC Milan, turning their form around when facing Yokohama F.Marinos, but the true test will be their Community Shield clash against Palace.
