Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has shown his love to defensive teammate Ibrahima Konate amid reports linking the centre-back with Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are currently on the lookout for a centre-back and discovered this week that Arsenal are making moves to try and keep hold of their number one target William Saliba.

If the Gunners are able to get a new contract sorted for Saliba, Real could look elsewhere for a new centre-back and, as per Marca, Konate could be on their shortlist.



One player who would be unhappy to see the Frenchman leave is Salah.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday afternoon, Salah shared a picture of himself smiling with Konate during a gym session with two hearts accompanying the post.

If Konate was to sign for Real, and that is unlikely at this stage, he could be joining Trent Alexander-Arnold at the Bernabeu.

Alexander-Arnold has announced he will be departing the club when his contract expires at the end of this season.

It is understood that Real are likely to be his next club as he looks to reunite with his England teammate Jude Bellingham.

Liverpool are already working hard to ensure that this does not happen though.

The ECHO reported in October that talks had begun to extend Konate's stay beyond 2026 but no new deal has been signed yet.

As for Salah, he will be at Liverpool beyond this campaign after he got his wish of a new deal at Anfield.
