Liverpool are waiting to announce the shirt numbers of their latest signings as their new kit prepares to be launched.

The Reds have so far signed two new players this summer, but are yet to give either of them an official squad number.

The reason for this is seemingly down to Liverpool’s new kit deal with Adidas not coming into effect until August 1st.

And this has led to plenty of speculation over which shirt numbers Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong will wear with the Reds.

Wirtz wore No.

10, and that is a possibility at Liverpool, while Frimpong looks likely to wear the No.

30, which he has sported for his whole senior career so far.

The most intrigue arrives over Wirtz, with fans keen to get his name and number emblazoned on their replica kits.

When he isn’t banging in the goals and setting up his teammates on the pitch, Salah has a reputation for being a little bit cheeky away from the field.

The Egyptian is not averse to some teasing towards the rest of the Liverpool squad, and he has some close relationships who are on the receiving end more than others.

Szoboszlai is one of those who Salah is regularly seen chatting to, with the pair often enjoying a drink together at the Liverpool training ground coffee bar.

And while they are currently taking a break from sitting together at work, Salah has made sure he teases Szoboszlai from a distance.

Reacting to a post from Liverpool’s Instagram page of Wirtz’s shadow looking towards last season’s home shirt, Salah couldn’t resist speculating over what number the record signing will don.

“Number 8?” wrote the 33-year-old, tagging in Szoboszlai and adding a crying laughter emoji.

It is fairly clear that Wirtz will not be taking Szoboszlai’s number at Liverpool.

If there is anyone in danger it is more likely to be Alexis Mac Allister, but Wirtz has already indicated that he is not interested in the Argentine’s No.

In the meantime, Liverpool are all set to announce another new signing, as Milos Kerkez will undergo his medical on Monday before being unveiled on Tuesday.

Just like with Frimpong and Wirtz, the expectation should be that Kerkez will be announced as a new Liverpool player without a squad number.
