Liverpool are looking to multiple areas of the team with the mindset of strengthening it during this summer’s transfer window.
Yesterday, the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool was confirmed as the club get their transfer business underway early.
They are not looking to stop there however, as an impetus seems to be placed on the acquisition of creative flair in recent weeks.
Florian Wirtz has recently been linked, as well as a sensational report of Liverpool submitting an offer to sign Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City.
The 33-year-old will leave the club he has called home for nearly ten years and seek a new adventure this summer.
Although the Belgian is entering the latter stages of his career, he is still a world-class player and could add a lot to Liverpool’s team on and off the pitch if he was to join.
Whilst initial reports of an offer from Liverpool for De Bruyne were swiftly shut down, Mohamed Salah has come out recently full of praise for the midfielder and has urged his club to sign him if the opportunity came.
He spoke to Sky Sports, saying: “I want to congratulate Kevin on his career.
And we have room for him in the team!”
Having Kevin De Bruyne’s creative ability to unlock defences with Mo Salah ahead of him, could prove to an effective combination and Salah is clearly a fan of the idea.
Kevin De Bruyne is also great friends with Virgil van Dijk, with the pair often seen with each other throughout the season due to their children attending the same school and their shared love for electronic music and DJ Calvin Harris.
The Belgian creative midfielder could provide Liverpool with the creative flair they are after and with such a winning mentality having won all there is to win with City, he could prove to be invaluable.
He would be a short-term fix, due to his age, but with Liverpool looking to defend a Premier League title and add more trophies on top of that, De Bruyne could be a key member to have in your squad and the opportunity to sign him on a free could perk the attention of Liverpool.
