Former Al-Adalah midfielder Edson, experienced a rollercoaster of emotions two years ago when he heard his club had signed Mohamed Salah, only to discover it was someone with the same name, not the Liverpool star himself.

Despite Salah signing a three-year contract extension at Anfield in 2022, he was still subject to a mega bid of around £150m from Saudi on the eve of the 2023/24 season.
It turned out not to be, I was hoping that was it.

"Arab football is growing a lot every year and if Salah went there, it wouldn't be something out of this world."
The player in question was actually a left-back hailing from Saudi Arabia.
He went on to make just three appearances for the club during the 2023/24 season.
At the time, Edson also spoke of the league's growing financial power during his interview, with a positive outlook.
"People are investing a lot in Arab football, they want to make a stronger league every year," he added.
