Brighton stars both past and present were among those to react to Tariq Lamptey’s latest update after his surprise exit.

Brighton saw plenty of incomings and outgoings this summer, with the hierarchy backing Fabian Hurzeler in his second summer transfer window.

Around £70 million was spent on reinforcements, with Brighton signing the likes of Maxim De Cuyper, Charalampos Kostoulas and Diego Coppola.

However, the club also sanctioned several major departures that reshaped the squad.

Simon Adingra, Julio Enciso and Joao Pedro all departed Brighton this summer.

There was also another late exit that may have raised eyebrows as Lamptey joined Fiorentina on a permanent deal.

Lamptey signed an extension at Brighton back in May, but a deal on deadline day was sanctioned for his exit.

Now, plenty of players shared a reaction to his latest post.

While a move has been officially confirmed for Lamptey to leave Brighton, his former teammates were still active in his latest message as he is now on international duty.

Lamptey departs the south coast having made 122 appearances for the Seagulls, scoring five goals and contributing 16 assists, after joining from Chelsea in January 2020.

While he awaits his new chapter in Italy, the full-back now has his focus on the national team, as they face Chad and Mali in the World Cup qualifiers.

Lamptey had been linked with a Brighton exit before his move away, despite being a regular during Hurzeler’s side.

However, he wasn’t the only player that the club let go on the final day, which may cause concern, as Matt O’Riley left to join Marseille on loan.

Sunderland and Juventus were also linked with O’Riley, but the decision to let the midfielder and Lamptey leave, without bringing in like-for-like replacements, may leave some supporters concerned for their current squad.
