Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo dispatched an emotional message to supporters following a heated incident against Brentford.

Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw with Brentford on 13 September after former Liverpool man Fabio Carvalho netted in stoppage time.

After going 1-0 down, Cole Palmer returned from injury to strike the Blues’ equaliser, while Caicedo scored a brilliant goal to put them in the lead before Carvalho’s equaliser.

However, the midfielder was also at the centre of controversy after he shoved Kevin Schade to the floor in an aggressive manner after losing the ball.

Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett believes Caicedo should have been booked as he “could have sparked a mass brawl” for his actions.

Despite the drama, the midfielder shared a message on social media following the incident and the result, addressing the supporters.

Despite the poor result and questions over his on-pitch conduct, Caicedo shared a positive message on Instagram.

He posted multiple images from the game and captioned his post with “It got away from us at the end, but we take a point home.

Already looking ahead to Wednesday”.

He saw a number of reactions to the message, with Marc Cucurella, Romeo Lavia and former teammate Nicolas Jackson all liking the post.

Caicedo has performed impressively since the start of the season, continuing his form off the back of a brilliant campaign in 2024-25.

His efforts last term were recognised by supporters and his teammates as Caicedo was named Chelsea’s Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year for last season.

While Caicedo has continued to impress this season, one player who hasn’t featured is Raheem Sterling.

Football Insider revealed that Sterling is now set to remain at Chelsea until the January transfer window after the Englishman refused to move to the Saudi Pro League.

Chelsea were considering terminating Sterling’s contract, but his £350,000-per-week wages make that option financially problematic.

The former England international is down the pecking order under Maresca, and despite interest across Europe, the winger is set to stay until at least the next window.
