Paul Merson has raved about reported Liverpool target Jude Bellingham in The Daily Star and believes that he gives more than Jordan Henderson.

The former Arsenal star has said that Borussia Dortmund star Bellingham has more energy than Liverpool ace Henderson.

The Sky Sports pundit has been impressed by the 17-year-old midfielder and has hailed his attributes.

Eurosport reported in April that that Liverpool are among the clubs who are monitoring the 17-year-old midfielder.

Merson wrote in The Daily Star: “I think he’s behind Bellingham now. I think sooner or later this kid will play in the tournament – and he will be a star.

“I think he’s outstanding. And against the best teams in the tournament we’re going to need more insurance in front of our defence.

“Bellingham gives you that. He has more energy than Henderson. More legs. And he’s so composed and confident you’d think he’d played 500 games already.

“I’ve never seen anything like it in a kid of his age. I’m a massive fan of his. I’m so impressed.”

Bellingham is only 17, but as Merson has noted, the former Birmingham City teenager plays like a veteran.

The youngster looks so composed, even in the big matches, such as the Champions League against Manchester City.

Gary Lineker is a fan.

Jose Mourinho also loves Bellingham.

The youngster could be a star for England at the Euro 2020 finals.

Liverpool are doing well in keeping tabs on the teenager, who cost Dortmund £20.7 million last summer, as reported by The Mirror.

It is very likely that Dortmund will ask for more than double of what they paid for Bellingham.

However, it could be worth the investment for Liverpool, who need a replacement midfielder for Georginio Wijnaldum, who has left the Reds.
