Both Danilo and Ramon Sosa left for Brazil, but the main focus was Gibbs-White’s links with Europa League champions Tottenham.
Spurs thought they had activated the £60m release clause in the playmaker’s contract, only for the England international to sign a three-year-deal two weeks later.
