With more than a week until Liverpool’s next fixture, full focus is back on the transfer market.
The Reds kicked off their Premier League season with a nervy win over Bournemouth on Friday night, but do not play again until a week on Monday.
Newcastle are the opponents on that day, as Liverpool travel for what is likely to be a lively game at St James’ Park.
While Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool remains in the balance, that is where most of the attention will be in the intervening days.
However, there is another transfer saga which the Reds are firmly locked into as well: that of Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi.
Liverpool are interested in signing Guehi as he heads into the final year of his Palace contract.
And as the two teams continue to discuss a suitable fee, journalist Sami Mokbel has shared whether the centre-back is likely to play against Chelsea on Sunday.

As expected, Isak was not included in the Newcastle squad which travelled to face Aston Villa on Saturday.
Newcastle fans aimed chants towards Isak at full-time of their 0-0 draw, with the Swede’s absence an indication that a Liverpool move could still happen.

Speaking on BBC Football Focus, though, Mokbel claimed that Guehi is set to do the opposite, and will play for Palace against Chelsea on Sunday.
“The Liverpool situation has presented itself now, I think he would go,” said the reporter.

“A deal at the moment, an agreement between the clubs isn’t forthcoming and hasn’t happened.
“My understanding is that Marc Guehi will play tomorrow against Chelsea which is a bit of a risk when you consider injury and stuff like that, and then talks will recommence on Monday.
But there’s definitely legs in that deal.”
Although most fans would applaud Guehi’s decision to play, in complete contrast to Isak, it does throw up potential problems.
As Mokbel suggests, if the centre-back picks up a problem, that could completely scupper his chances of any kind of transfer.
Guehi is usually fairly robust as a player, which is perhaps part of the reason Liverpool want to sign him, but he was forced off during last weekend’s Community Shield.
While that was proven to be a simple case of cramp at the time, if the 25-year-old goes off this time it is likely to be something more serious.
That would put his status as a Liverpool target in jeopardy.
So, while Reds supporters would ordinarily be hoping for a Palace win over Chelsea, they will this time only be hoping their potential new centre-back comes through unscathed.
