Napoli are looking to make a statement in the summer transfer window this season.

Manager Antonio Conte led Napoli to a fourth Serie A title in their history this past season, securing the Scudetto on the final matchday day of the 2024/25 domestic campaign.

The triumph represented a remarkable turnaround for Napoli, who had endured a disastrous title defense the previous season, finishing 10th in Serie A – 41 points behind champions Inter

Conte had to deal with the departures of stars like Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia enroute to securing the league title in his first season in Naples.

And it looks like the Serie A giants are now looking to cement their place as an elite Italian outfit.

Their summer business has been headlined by the sensational free transfer acquisition of Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City.

The 33-year-old Belgian midfielder officially joined the Serie A champions on Thursday after his contract expired at the Etihad Stadium following a decade-long stint with the Cityzens.

And it looks like they could turn to the Premier League once again having already brought in Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour from England’s topflight in recent years.

Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa have been identified as priority targets for Conte’s attacking reinforcement plans.

According to a report from La Repubblica, the two Liverpool attackers are “solid targets” for the Serie A champions, with “frequent contact” ongoing between the clubs.

Antonio Conte is reportedly “crazy” about signing Nunez in particular.

The Italian publication goes as far as to say that that “negotiations have already started” with Liverpool regarding both players, with Napoli increasingly confident of making progress in their pursuit.

Federico Chiesa’s potential move to Napoli would represent a return to Italian football after a disappointing stint in the Premier League.

The former Juventus winger has struggled to establish himself at Liverpool, managing only 466 minutes of game time across 14 appearances in all competitions during the 2024-25 season.

The 27-year-old will want to be playing regular football with the World Cup in the USA next year rapidly approaching.

There is no doubt that the Serie A champions will face competition for both players, with Nunez also linked to Atletico Madrid and Saudi Arabian clubs, while Chiesa has attracted interest from other Italian sides.

However, Conte’s reputation, Napoli’s recent success, and the opportunity to play alongside Kevin De Bruyne could prove decisive factors in convincing both players to join the championship-winning project.
