The summer transfer window for the 2024/25 season is set to be another where Liverpool are going to be having a major revamp.
Jurgen Klopp will be parting ways with the Merseyside club, which, in itself has caused a major stir amongst the team.
Since his announcement, names such as Xabi Alonso, Thomas Tuchel, Gary O’Neil and Ruben Amorim have all been thrown into the ring.
However, over the last couple of days, it seems as if Arne Slot is the man set to take over from Jurgen Klopp.
The 45-year-old is currently managing Feyenoord in the Eredivise and has managed to get the side into second place with 75 points to their name.
Although this acquisition may seem a little underwhelming to some, any manager that takes over Jurgen Klopp isn’t going to live up to his standards.
And, even though the departure of the German is somewhat upsetting, a fresh start could be what the team need in order to take the next step.
Along with this summer revamp in the managerial department, many of the playing staff will also have to be chopped and changed.
Much like last summer when the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Fabinho were all sold, something as severe may happen again but to the attacking and defensive departments.
Although at times throughout the season each have performed admirably, over the last month or so, Liverpool’s attack and defence have been below-par.
Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez are failing to finish simple chances whilst the dfeence are allowing opposing attackers to have simple shots on goal.
Hence, why, in summer, change could be afoot for the club.
One of the players who could be axed is that of Nat Phillips.
The 27-year-old has been with the Reds since 2019 and has played his part in Liverpool history.
The vast majority of his playing time came in the 2020/21 season when Liverpool were faced with something of an injury crisis.
Both Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dijk suffered season ending injuries whilst Joel Matip was sidelined more often than not.
This meant that Phillips and Rhys Williams had to step up and sure up Liverpool’s back line.

During this term, Phillips played a total of 20 times with three appearances even coming in the Champions League.
This was without doubt the height of his Reds career, as, since then, he has been shipped out on loan to many teams with his current spell currently playing out at Cardiff.
And, speaking to Wales Live in regard to his future at Merseyside, Phillips said the following:
“I’d certainly consider [a return to Cardiff].
I’ve enjoyed my time here, I’ve enjoyed playing regularly.
I want to continue playing regular football and enjoying my football,” he said.
“Any time you move clubs, a lot is up in the air.
Any time a player is moving they want to know who the coach is going to be and whether or not you’re going to be a player for them.
“I had a brief conversation with the loan manager at Liverpool.
I’ve learnt throughout my career to just sit back and let things unfold because it doesn’t really matter how much you try and worry about it or influence it, a lot of things are out of your control.”
Although nothing is set in stone and no official announcements have been made, it feels hard to see a future where Phillips fits into Liverpool’s team.
However, only time will tell whether or not we see the defender representing the Red of Liverpool again.
