Liverpool’s interest in Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez appears to be gathering momentum.
A subtle development on the international stage may hint that a transfer is nearing completion.
Hungary head coach Marco Rossi confirmed during a press conference on Thursday that Kerkez will not be part of the squad for their upcoming friendly against Sweden.
“Of course, a few problems may creep in, for example, for various reasons, neither Milos Kerkez nor Barnabas Varga will be in tomorrow’s match.” Said Rossi.
While Rossi declined to go into details, Hungarian outlet M4 Sport cited “various problems” as the reason for Kerkez’s absence.

Kerkez’s omission comes just days after reports suggested Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes has been stepping up talks with Bournemouth.
According to The Times’ Paul Joyce, Bournemouth are standing firm on their £45 million valuation.
Although discussions are ongoing to find a compromise that could include performance-based add-ons.
Adding to the intrigue, a private jet flying from Budapest to Liverpool on Wednesday evening has sparked suggestions that Kerkez may be undergoing a medical or handling the final steps of the deal.
If completed, Kerkez would compete directly with Andy Robertson for the left-back spot, potentially replacing the Scotland international over time.
His arrival would also likely mark the end of Kostas Tsimikas’ spell at Anfield, with clubs like Leeds United, Valencia, and Lille reportedly monitoring the situation.
Liverpool’s backline is undergoing strategic reshaping this summer under Arne Slot, with Jeremie Frimpong already signed and a record bid underway for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
For now, the clearest signal, yet, of progress in the Kerkez transfer may have come not from club channels but from the Hungarian national team.
