Former Dundee manager Neil McCann will replace John Robertson as Inverness boss on a temporary basis.

A brief statement read on the club's website read: "The club is pleased to announce that Neil McCann will take the position of manager of ICTFC while John Robertson is on his compassionate leave."

The Caley Thistle boss has stepped away from his role with the Championship side after being granted a personal leave of absence.

Inverness currently sit sixth in the Championship but have games on hand on the teams above them as they eye a playoff spot and a return to the Premiership.

McCann has worked as a pundit since he left Dundee for a second time in 2018 and has spoken about his desire to return to the dugout.
