Florian Neuhaus has played down speculation linking him with Liverpool despite admitting he "can't say" what will happen in the summer.

The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder is reportedly being eyed as a potential replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum should the Dutchman depart Anfield at the end of the season.

That would likely force Jurgen Klopp into the transfer market to find a suitable successor, with Neuhaus thought to be among those being considered.

"I have a contract until 2024 and I have very big goals for this season," Neuhaus told Kicker .

Wijnaldum is out of contract at the end of June and appears no closer to agreeing an extension.

I can't say what will happen in the summer at the moment.
