Jurgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah were seen exchanging heated words on the touchline during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with West Ham United.
Salah was not included in Liverpool’s starting XI for the match at the London Stadium, with Klopp opting for Harvey Elliott, Cody Gakpo, and Luis Diaz in attack instead.
When Salah was eventually brought on in the second half, along with Joe Gomez and Darwin Nunez, just moments before Michail Antonio scored the equalizer for West Ham, tensions flared between Salah and Klopp.
The Egyptian could be seen gesturing towards the Liverpool manager, prompting Nunez to intervene and separate the two.
Liverpool were unable to secure a victory in Saturday’s match, with Antonio’s late header salvaging a point for David Moyes’ side.
Salah declined to disclose further details about the incident as he left the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
“There is going to be fire today if I speak,” Salah offered before walking away from the assembled media.
Asked about the incident himself, Klopp said: “We spoke about it in the dressing room but it’s done for me.
That’s it.”
Asked if it was resolved for Salah as well, Klopp added: “It was my impression, yes.”
Liverpool swiftly responded to conceding the opening goal, with an own goal from goalkeeper Alphonse Areola leveling the score at 2-1 following Andy Robertson’s equalizer.
However, Michail Antonio’s header in the dying moments of the game secured a point for David Moyes’s side, leaving Liverpool trailing Arsenal by two points in the Premier League standings.
Arsenal are scheduled to face local rivals Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
A new camera angle may have shed light on the reason behind the spat between Klopp and Salah.
