Newcastle United are understood to be angry at being forced to play a waiting game over Alexander Isak as Liverpool continue to ponder a bid for the striker.
Isak has emerged as a chief target for the Reds as they refashion their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season.
The player has yet to feature for Newcastle during pre-season due to a minor thigh problem that forced him to miss the friendly at Celtic earlier this month and the club's ongoing tour of the Far East.
The Magpies are being put under increasing pressure regards their stance that Isak, of whom Liverpool have been long-time admirers, is not for sale this summer.

And reports in The Chronicle in the North East have claimed Newcastle chiefs have now become upset at the continued talk of interest in Isak from Liverpool without an official offer being made.
They believe the Reds are having to wait to generate funds from the sale of forward players before making a bid.
Luis Diaz this week joined Bayern Munich for £65m while Darwin Nunez, Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott could all be sold.

It is understood Isak wants a move to Liverpool having previously informed the Newcastle hierarchy of being open to a new challenge away from St James' Park.
Despite their discontent at the situation, Newcastle are seemingly preparing for life after Isak with a pursuit of RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko.
However, it appears Manchester United are now favourites to sign the Serbia international.
The Magpies are also keen on Brentford's Yoane Wissa but the London side have not yet shown any willingness to allow the attacker to depart.
They were last week beaten to the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike by Liverpool.

With Newcastle in South Korea at present, Isak has been seen working with a personal trainer in San Sebastian with Spanish media claiming the 25-year-old has returned to the training ground of former club Real Sociedad to continue his preparations for the new campaign.
And the League Cup winners are expecting the player to be available for the home friendly fixtures next weekend against Espanyol and Atletico Madrid.
