Now, however, it seems like it’s Newcastle’s turn to return the favour as Eddie Howe is reportedly interested in a member of Liverpool’s first-team squad.
Ever since Harvey Elliott put on the performance of his career at the Under-21 Euros, several teams have had their interest piqued in the Englishman.
And, as per a report from GiveMeSport, Howe is now ‘looking into a move’ for Elliott.
This is why the report adds that Elliott is now the player they’ve started to ‘explore’ a move for, with the 22-year-old able to cover a couple of positions within the Magpies’ ranks.

Although Liverpool already have Dominik Szoboszlai and now Florian Wirtz, who can play in attacking midfield, Elliott is still a more than solid option.
The former Fulham man was Jurgen Klopp’s star boy, and although Slot didn’t give Elliott as much game time as he deserved last season, there should surely be a way for the Dutchman to squeeze him into his plans.

At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what Liverpool’s team are going to look like, but one thing is for sure: Elliott cannot be allowed to just sit on the Reds’ bench, especially not at this stage of his career.
