The summer 2025 transfer window could go from bad to worse for Newcastle United with it suggested yet another striker target could evade them and move elsewhere.
If the Uruguayan completes the move then the ECHO understands Liverpool will explore the market for a replacement attacker who is ready to make the starting eleven and is deemed of fair market value.
In Isak's case it is all-but certain a British record transfer fee will have to be submitted to get Newcastle to deviate from their strict not-for-sale policy.

But also thought to be high in the Magpies' considerations around their Sweden international's possible departure is the ability to line up a replacement before either the season begins, or at worst, when the transfer window closes on September 1.
Suffering blow after blow on this front, another could soon be on the way as French publication L'Equipe report that whereas Newcastle have so far not been able to come to an agreement with Brentford for 28-year-old Yoane Wissa, now Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr have emerged and are willing to match the full asking price.
So far the Magpies have only been willing to pay £30m for a forward who is out of contract next year, but Brentford are in no rush to sell when they have already lost key stars Bryan Mbeumo, Christian Norgaard and Mark Flekken to rivals this summer.
Wissa may be viewed on Tyneside as more of a replacement for Callum Wilson, who departed earlier this summer as a free agent, but Newcastle also appear to have suffered in their full attempt to land a potential Isak stand-in.
According to colleagues at the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are increasingly confident RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko will choose them over Newcastle with a £74m offer in waiting.
These two forwards could follow Hugo Ekitike, Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Mbeumo in joining other clubs after initial expressions of interest to a varying degree from Newcastle.
All of this circles around to having an impact on Isak's potential move to Liverpool, with our colleagues at Chronicle Live stating that no decision has been taken yet whether the 25-year-old will rejoin Eddie Howe's squad.
