Alexander Isak could be allowed to make a stunning return to the Newcastle squad amid the striker’s ongoing transfer saga.
Isak has told Newcastle of his desire to leave the club this summer, and he was not involved in the Toon’s opening Premier League fixture at Aston Villa.
Premier League champions Liverpool have expressed an interest in Isak, but have had a bid of £110million rejected by Newcastle.
Newcastle have failed in attempts to sign Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike, with the former joining Manchester United and the latter Liverpool.
Isak is currently not involved at Newcastle.

Amid Eddie Howe’s struggles to sign a striker, and having let Callum Wilson leave at the expiry of his contract, Newcastle travelled to Villa Park without a recognised number nine.
There still seems to be hope though that Isak could return to the Newcastle squad.

Luke Edwards [19 August], stated in a post on X that it was “far better to keep Isak and reintegrate,” the striker back into the Newcastle team rather than purchase a player that the club do not want.

It would be sensational if Howe could reintegrate Isak back into the Newcastle squad as the striker does not appear interested to play for the club again.
The Toon are desperate for any striker right now but bringing Isak back into the team doesn’t seem a viable option for Howe right now.
Brentford’s Yoane Wissa appears desperate to force a move to Newcastle, and Howe should be completing a deal for the proven Premier League goal scorer.
