Liverpool’s interest in Alexander Isak hasn’t changed.

But they’re watching things unfold from the sidelines as Newcastle scramble for a replacement.

And now, it looks like Benjamin Sesko is the man they’ve picked.

Sesko is only 22, but he’s been on the radar of top clubs across Europe for a while.

Manchester United have been in talks for some time, confident they’d edge it.

But Newcastle have been more aggressive.

Liverpool fans have been quietly paying attention.

Isak’s potential move to Anfield depends on what Newcastle do next.

And now, it seems the dominoes are ready to fall.

On Friday, Delo.si dropped the first bombshell.

The Slovenian outlet reported that Sesko had “decided to join Newcastle United.”

Their journalist, Jernej Suhadolnik, went further, confirming that the striker has “made his mind up” and that Newcastle have “won the battle” for his signature, despite competition from Old Trafford.

That wasn’t the only confirmation.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri looked to back it up via his post on X, saying, “Newcastle United has taken advantage of Man United for Benjamin Sesko!”

“#NUFC has significantly increased the personal terms and received the final green light from Sesko to proceed on talks with Leipzig, deal expected around €90M, reports.”

Tavolieri also noted that Newcastle had “moved ahead of Man Utd in the race” after increasing what they were offering the player.

Now further reports have surfaced that Newcastle United have made a formal bid for the RB Leipzig man.

So what does this mean for Liverpool?

It means the Isak talks are real.

According to local reports, the Reds will make a second bid once Newcastle secure a replacement.

Despite other suggestions, talks are still alive.

It now looks like Newcastle are ready to spend around €90 million (£78 million) to close the deal for Sesko.

That’s a massive price, but one they appear willing to pay — just to free up Isak.
