Newcastle United should be worried by Nick Woltemade’s poor performance for Germany in their 2-0 loss to Slovakia.
While Eddie Howe’s former star striker – Alexander Isak – joined Liverpool, the North East side bolstered their forward line by signing Woltemade from Stuttgart.
The 23-year-old scored 17 goals in 33 appearances for his former club last term before starring for Germany in the summer’s Under-21 European Championships.
Meanwhile, Newcastle appointed David Hopkinson as their new Chief Executive Officer on Thursday, 4 September.

As well as securing their move for Woltemade, Newcastle signed Yoane Wissa from Brentford as they vie to succeed in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
Woltemade’s performances for Stuttgart last season show that he has the potential to succeed at St James’ Park this season.
However, as per FotMob, the 23-year-old had the fewest touches of any player to feature for 90 minutes as Germany were beaten 2-0 by Slovakia on 4 September.
