Reports (via Ben Jacobs) suggest that Liverpool will only make a formal offer if they get a signal from Newcastle that the door is open.

That signal may depend on one major condition: a replacement.



According to journalist Craig Hope (via Daily Mail), Newcastle will only sell Isak if they can bring in another forward first.

However, there’s also a twist — if Liverpool offer a massive fee, Newcastle might just take the money and run, even without signing a new striker.

It’s a classic transfer tug-of-war, and the Magpies’ squad in Singapore is reportedly split.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are waiting in the wings — boots laced and chequebook ready.

Former CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs offered some clarity.

He said, “Liverpool will only make a formal offer for Isak if given encouragement from Newcastle.”

The Reds are not planning to send a blind bid.

So, it’s not impossible.
