Newcastle is yet to renew its interest in Liverpool target Marc Guehi, who Crystal Palace has priced at around $68 million (£50 million.

Guehi, 24, has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool, with the Reds leading the race for his signature.

However, this time last year, Newcastle was keen to secure his signature.



With Guehi now in the final year of his contract, Palace haS had to reduce its asking price this summer.

The Reds are eager to sign a younger center-back than Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, the latter of whom is also entering the final year of his contract amidst reported interest from Real Madrid.

It's reported that Guehi would be prepared to see out his contract if Palace cannot arrange his departure before the summer transfer window shuts on Monday, September 1.

The Magpies were keen to secure Guehi a year ago but Palace chairman Steve Parish made it evident that they'd require 'superstar money'.
