Alexander Isak has sent a maiden message to Liverpool fans after sealing his record-breaking transfer from Newcastle United.
Liverpool finally brought this summer’s longest-running saga to an end two-and-a-half hours after the deadline passed on Monday, sealing a £125million move to break all Premier League transfer records.

James’ Park have left an extremely bad taste in the mouths of Newcastle fans this summer, who still weren’t happy to see Liverpool’s £125m bid finally accepted.
Newcastle had maintained throughout the summer that they would hold out for the £150m they valued Isak at, but Liverpool were able to complete the deal for £25m less than that price tag, shattering their own record transfer for the second time in 73 days.

After weeks of active attempts to force through his transfer by refusing to play, train and travel for any of Newcastle’s games in pre-season or the new campaign, Isak has finally sealed the move that he wanted.
Spotted donning Liverpool’s number nine shirt before his signing on the dotted line was announced at 9:30pm on Monday, Isak posted on Instagram in his new colours to send a message to Liverpool fans.
In his post taken at Liverpool’s training centre, Isak said: “An honour and a privilege to join this incredible club.

Liverpool had already spent close to £300million this summer before that climbed to £425m with the signing of Isak, and had already broken their transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
Wirtz’s £116m fee has been dwarfed by Isak’s transfer though as the Swede completes a new-look, star-studded frontline, but the window ended on a sour note after the Reds failed to address a key weakness.
Marc Guehi’s £35m transfer collapsing at the eleventh hour came after an ultimatum from Oliver Glasner, who threatened to walk away from Crystal Palace if he was sold, but Guehi‘s absence could also prove to be the difference in Liverpool’s Premier League title defence.
