Brentford's Yoane Wissa has left the club's pre-season training camp amid speculation over his future, with Newcastle, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest all keen on signing him.

Wissa was one of the Premier League's top scorers last season, netting 19 times, and he is reported to have been unsettled by talk surrounding his future.

The speculation comes amid Liverpool's interest in Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

The 28-year-old has returned to London for talks with Brentford's director of football, Phil Giles, when he is likely to make it clear that he wants to leave the club this summer.

Wissa is keen to play Champions League football, which is on the table at both Newcastle and Tottenham, while Forest looks set to compete in the Europa League.

Brentford reportedly turned down a $34 million bid from Newcastle for Wissa, who has less than a year to run on his contract with the Bees, while Forest also saw a bid for the same amount of money turned down earlier in the window.

From a financial perspective, Brentford does not need to sell Wissa after Bryan Mbeumo's move to Manchester United was formalized earlier this week.

From a sporting perspective, Brentford will surely be mindful of allowing too many key figures to leave the club in one window, having already lost Mbeumo, manager Thomas Frank, and club captain Christian Norgaard.

Isak was one of only a handful of players who scored more league goals than Wissa last season, and Wissa would be a great back-up option for the Magpies to have heading into a season in which the games will come thick and fast following their return to Europe.

Isak himself has been the subject of strong speculation surrounding his future this summer, but it appears as though he will stay in the North East for at least another season after Liverpool settled on Hugo Ekitike.

The Reds made it clear to Newcastle that they were keen on signing Isak at the start of last week but were seemingly met with short shrift as they quickly turned their attention to Ekitike.

Ekitike flew to London to complete a medical on Tuesday, July 22, and the plan is for him to jet straight back out of the UK to link up with his new teammates for the two-game tour of China.

The 23-year-old, who scored 15 goals for Eintracht Frankfurt last season, is set to pen a six-year contract at Anfield.
