Nico Raskin’s future at Rangers has become clearer after he gave an emphatic response when asked whether he wants to remain in Glasgow.

Raskin was the subject of a Rangers exit over the summer, with the midfielder valued at around £20million amid interest from Premier League club’s.

The 24-year-old did not feature for Rangers in their 0-0 draw with Celtic, which has done little to ease the pressure on manager Russell Martin.

As per the Daily Record [8 September], Raskin has delivered a resounding no when asked whether he wants to leave Rangers.

Following Belgium’s win over Kazakhstan, Raskin said: “My situation at the club is complicated.

I want to continue to resolve this at the club.”

The midfielder “faces showdown talks with Martin to iron out his future going forward,” with the manager needing to put a string of wins together at Ibrox to keep his job.

Now the transfer window has passed, Martin will want to ensure Raskin remains focused at helping Rangers improve their performances on the pitch.

Martin has missed Raskin’s contribution so far this campaign, and the midfielder sounds keen to resolve his future at the club and get back playing.

Hearts at home is a huge match for Martin, as going five without a win in the Scottish Premiership would be uncharted territory for any manager of Glasgow’s big two.

Questions over Raskin’s future would be raised again if he does not feature against Hearts, which could impact Martin.
