Nicola Carragher has praised her husband Jamie Carragher after he was recognised for his loyalty to Liverpool Football Club.
La Liga giants Athletic Club, commonly known as Athletic Bilbao, have announced the Liverpool legend as the recipient of their ‘One-Club Man’ accolade for 2025.
The defender spent his entire professional career with the Reds and, with his 737 appearances, is second only to Ian Callaghan for the highest number of games in LFC history.
Carragher debuted in January 1997 and remained a mainstay for the club throughout his footballing career.
He featured in 58 of Liverpool’s 63 fixtures during an historic 2000-01 season, in which Gerard Houllier’s side landed a cup treble of League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup.
The defender was also part of the triumphant Liverpool squad that won the Champions League trophy against AC Milan in 2005, with the famous comeback in Istanbul.
He won a number of other accolades during his time with the club, with his final trophy being the 2012 League Cup, under manager Kenny Dalglish.
The last of his Liverpool appearances came in May 2013, with a 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers at Anfield.
Before the match, he was given a guard of honour and was presented with a special trophy commemorating his career by Steven Gerrard and Ian Callaghan.
Carragher was presented with the award at Athletic Club’s home, San Mames, when they hosted Girona in La Liga this month.

Speaking about his award to LiverpoolFC.com, the 47-year-old said: "After winning the Champions League, being a one-club man is the biggest achievement of my career,” he said.
“It was an honour when Athletic Club got in touch.
I was a supporter on the pitch.”
He told Athletic Club: "I was a Liverpool FC supporter on the pitch.
